I changed the purchase price of all stocks in my commsec to $0. That means all stocks show green on the total profit basis, but of course daily changes will be red or green.
When I look at my portfolio, I then sort the stocks by portfolio weight and have a look at my exposure to each stock and current price to then decide if I want to buy/sell/hold. I find that in this kind of market it can take some of the emotion out of the decision-making. It would also be effective at hiding your losses from the wife.
