Standard rules applied to most civilised country who don’t accept children as leverage to gain citizenship.
A European country will not recognise me as a citizen of that country because one off my parents wasn’t considered as a citizen’s of that country.
They acknowledge my birth in that nation but deem me as being a non citizen of that nation.
The RAAF had similar problems when personnel's were posted to RAAF Base Butterworth in Malaysia.
Originally the kids born overseas had to be naturalised as Australian citizens but eventually the standard International ruling came into force. That at least one of the parents was an Australian citizen it was deemed that as the base was controlled by Aust, it was deemed as the child was born in Aust territory.
