Special dividend is a revenue income whereas the capital return is to reduce your cost base of investment (capital)
Moreover If you hold the asset less than 1 year and with no current year/bf capital losses and/or invested via the corporate structure (no cgt discount), there is no difference between receiving $96c from PSC and sell it in the market for $96c
