HERE'S AN OVERVIEW DATA AND EVENTS CALENDER:
North America
> A busy week on the Canadian calendar. The Bank of Canada will meet to discuss its current interest rate policy. Decembers consumer price index will be released, followed by manufacturing sales, wholesale sales and finishing of the week, Novembers retail sales numbers.
Australia and New Zealand
> A relatively quiet week for Australia on the data front. The next seven days will see the TD inflation gauge, consumer confidence, new motor vehicle sales and trade price indices for the December quarter released.
> A flurry of data out of New Zealand sees the REINZ house price index, food prices, consumer prices, business PMI and Novembers retail sales data released.
Japan and China*
> Japan has a steady flow of data over the next week starting with an estimate of Novembers industrial production and capacity utilisation, followed by consumer confidence, machine tool orders, leading index, coincidence index, all industry activity, supermarket sales, and nationwide department store sales.
> The market is keenly awaiting the release of Chinas Q4 GDP data new week. Money supply data, new Yuan loans, foreign exchange reserves, PPI, CPI, retail sales and industrial production are also scheduled for release.
Europe and UK
> The big piece of data out of the US this week will be producer prices for the month of December. Outside of this we will see a steady flow of second tier data kicking off with the NAHB housing market index, followed by consumer confidence, mortgage applications, housing starts, building permits and the weekly jobs data.
> A quiet week with little data scheduled for release out of Europe this week. The pieces of data out will be construction output, the final read of PMI services and industrial new orders for the month of November.
> Overall a quiet week of data from Germany. We will see the ZEW surveys, producer prices, PMI manufacturing and PMI services.
> Some major pieces of data are on the UK calendar for next week. We see CPI numbers, the retail price index, jobs data, BoE minutes, public finances, mortgage approvals and retail sales.
