Vessel charters rarely offer this type of compensation at the best of times. It would be commercial suicide to fund your clients costs while your boat is under repair. As the vessel market is so busy most vessels are offering a "take it or leave it" scenario.

If anything I expect all this to cost more because of the split mobilisation and increased fees for the additional drill rigs. They're already staring down the barrel of 2 weeks of staff costs. Now they're up to at least 4 weeks delay. That assumes the vessel leaves Iceland shortly after the 27th. Who defines "shortly"? Is "shortly" 2 days or 2 weeks or 2 months?

The vessel may not leave until mid July and works therefore won't start until end July.

Costs don't always move linearly.
