I hope a true signal is sent to the government of how excessive the rate is. If what you say is true (which I suspect) then a drop it productivity of the mines will force an ‘adjustment’ of the rate and thresholds to better respond to what is an international market. That said, Australia does have the good stuff and demand will continue to exist for decades.
I believe in coal in the long term in limited functions hence why I have been a buyer of SMR since the good old days of 60s and 70s cents.
