Abbott and Morrison seriously damaged the university system with their manipulations of pricing for study, preferences for what should be taught, eg. making humanities much more expensive, and reducing govt funding by abbott/morrison.... but Morrison did the worst damage by leaving universities unsupported during the pandemic.
Howard did a lot to damage universities too but nowhere near as damaging as the last 9 years. Howard died to assist universities to diversify funding by including industrial development close to, or on, university campuses, linked with uni R&D research programs.
it looked for all the world like dumbing down Aus. No "Smart Australia" in Libs plans that for certain.
