Your church sounds wonderful. Just like the one which I attended when I was young.
Welcoming and generous and friendly to those in need.
I sort of drifted away as I grew up and haven't given it a great deal of thought.
My few visits about 2 years ago to an offshoot of Hillsong absolutely appalled me.
I almost got caught, I was feeling vulnerable but all these pop star like characters prancing on the stage with credit card signs flashing behind them really made me angry.
I agree that the practice of religious belief should most surely be permitted.
But I also believe that it is rude and intrusive to try and push views on to people.
We used to have Jehovah Witnesses come all the way out to the farm, until my husband politely asked them not to call again.
We still get handwritten letters in our PO Box from them, asking if we are lonely etc, and suggesting that we should turn to God.
I find this to be pushy.
But hey each to their own of course.
