Given that 64 chips is basically 6 times louder than a single chip, I would have thought that the 80 chip demo board was designed entirely with the Gen 1 chip in mind.
Whether or not they currently intend to equip it with Gen 1 or Gen 2 chips is another question.
If you had Gen 1 chips, equipping a demo board with 80 of them would be a pretty good demo / evaluation device.
80 Gen 2 chips, each with 8x the loudness of the Gen 1, would be a formidable but possibly unnecessarily loud device, except for outdoor concerts perhaps?
