Have to give it to Qantas, whilst operationally the present exec' team are useless, like so managers have become, adept at monetization.
Basically use shareholder dilution to pay your staff (shareholders en masse are pretty ambivalent/stupid) and not only avoid any real expense to the cash/PNL statements, but also lock in employee discipline.
With an outstanding charge against them (only not served because they continue to dispute in every tier of Australian legal court to no success so far) Qantas again arguably flaunting Australian employment law:
