Over the last week or so (by my calcs) there has been about 2.3 million shares sold short (not including today).
THat's a fairly large percentage by total daily volume that needs to be bought back (if it hasn't already). I'd suggest it's possible this could turn quickly.
Today's AFR front page headline probably hasn't helped either.
