Here's a short write-up regarding PPA - Power, Performance, Area as the three leading criteria in semiconductor design. According to this article, power is now the number one criterion.

So, how valuable could 4DS be if it is:
- many orders of magnitude more energy efficient
- an order of magnitude faster read time than DRAM
- scalable to densities beyond DRAM
