It's interesting that despite much of the media forecasting a poor future for department stores, MYR shot up the rankings of the Roy Morgan best regarded Australian companies to #7.
Why? It has clear refund policies and an excellent website that features good promotions. I've never had a problem with a MYR online delivery apart from some taking a few days longer, which is symptomatic of Australia Post handling much higher parcels volumes.
MYR may still find the next 12 months to two years challenging to say the least, but ABS just said department store sales were up a whopping five per cent for a month (though it's not CPI-adjusted).
In contrast, QAN badly treats many travellers. It must fast be losing whatever 'iconic' status it had.
I inform friends of great experiences on various Asian airlines. Some are surprised, but less so now that the true 'Qantas experience' is being 'lowlighted' so much by many who've been let down by this company that trades on nostalgia.
