It only ever went up to those levels due to the short trying to unwind.
Nickel price still around $22k which is above the long term levels from before the squeeze. Compare to Tin, Copper, or Zinc and Nickel looks quite strong. Going to be a fundamentally tight market for Class 1.
Realistically I would be happy for Nickel to stay in the $22-25k band. It means it won't incentivize an oversupply situation but a first quartile cost producer like Jaguar will print cash at $10-12/lb
