I remember as a boy in WA the stories of Christian Brothers institutions being a forum for abuse of children at the hands of kiddy fiddling priests. It wasn't uncommon for our gen boys to be threatened with being sent to one of them or Riverbank detention centre for being naughty.
Of course nothing was done of substance to address those rumours at the time, but later on the stories of Clontarf, Castledare and New Norcia were confirmed. Generations of orphans and "stolen" kids of multiple ethnicity were put through those places. Are we are going to single out aborigines as more important than other victims?
