The Federal Reserve in the US is reducing its $9.5 trillion balance sheet by buying bonds at $95 billion per month, trying to get it back closer to the record $4.2 trillion after the GFC, before the pandemic. At the same time it is raising rates by .75% each month this year. The combination is a desperate effort to kill off 8.5% inflation.
If that is not tightening I will be a monkey's uncle.
