The water problem exists because we have not developed the water infrastructure as the population has increased. I live in Perth and I cannot recall the last time a new dam was built. And when they try to build a dam as in Queensland everyone gets up in arms because they do not want in built on their property. The other problem is that we need to decentralise our cities and grow new cities. In the NorthWest the water that runs of from flood rivers each year could fill Sydney harbour ten times over. The land there is bountiful for growing crops all that is needed is to invest in the infrastructure and dams. The land there could support many millions. America became powerful because of the economies of scale from a large population, which was based on immigration. China is going the same way, although they always had the people.We can do it the same and better if we are smart in building clean ecofriendly cities with good planning.
