The virtualisation side of the process is near instantaneous & very cheap, so it's possible MatchVision can be deployed for live games with a few seconds lag.
The lag we are seeing on games so far is broadcast rightholders imposing the delay. Once a large broadcast rights holder is onside, it's literally game on.
Linius are giving broadcast rightholders a very sweet deal by putting the advertising money on the table in return for rates.
I recall reading a 10 second TV ad in India for the IPL costs 20 million USD. Clearly a more targeted advertisement at a lesser overall cost will have major appeal for companies trying to reach their consumer target market.
