Hmmm. Not the most insightful article. Services up Ramelius, Capricorn and Evolution. Do any of these make sense? Good luck raising in this environment for starters. Would have to be a merger of equals and I just don't see the synergies.
More likely - Newcrest (proximity to Cadia) or Anglo Ashanti for Tropicana. In fact Anglo buys Regis and sells off Duketon and Mcphillamys makes most sense.
