Sorry, cant find the info as i read it but i googled it, the quotes are from one of those know it all sites....
A Tesla is cited as employing 10 to 15 kilograms of lithium in their EV power packs.
Known global reserves of lithium amount to 14 million tons (though unsubstantiated speculation has it there could be up to 90 millions tons, if we go looking for it in unexpected places). Assuming that is USA tons, that is 907.185 kilograms per ton or 60 to 90 Tesla EVs per ton.

I’m guessing you’re referring to the battery since nothing else in an EV uses Lithium (well maybe some lithium grease used someplace)
A 70kWh Tesla battery uses 63kg of Lithium Carbonate Li2CO3, of which 19% or 12kg is Lithium.

That’s about 0.17kg/kWh in Tesla Batteries. Other lithium batteries of different designs may have more or less electrolytes w/ varying amounts of lithium but this is about what one would expect on average with a liquid lithium based electrolyte.

Q: How much lithium in kg is used in an electric car?
A: If the car is using lithium ion batteries, there is about 0.09 kg per kwh of battery power. So a 100 kwh battery would have 9 kg, and a 60 kwh battery about 5.4 kg.
