QAN CEO closed the airline precipitously in 2011? (see link below), and according to media reports at the time placed flight crews and tens of thousands of passengers at risk when many aircraft pilots and staff were notified during flight. Th excuse was industrial relations, and since being in the job loathed his workforce, sacked many thousands, gifted many more jobs to labour hire companies, loyal travellers paid more for a much reduced level of service. QAN CEO the Board and executive team paid themselves more for these big decisions.
