It has been mentioned that immigration feeds the government coffers by virtue of more tax payers, hence helping pay for the increased needs of aged care and medical facilities. I would be interested to see the percentage of migrants who pay taxes versus those who rely on welfare. We have been burdened with many who come to this country and immediately take up welfare. On the flip side, we have also been blessed with skilled migrants with whom we have reaped the benefits.
It would be intersting to see the net result of government tax income and welfare expenditure from immigration over the past ten years.
