    Radwimps,
    Intesting comments. Your suggestion of sending old people to be looked after by poor people elsewhere sounds unpleasant but isn't unique.

    Do you remember the 'Multi Function Polis'. This was a suggestion by the Japanese to send their old people to retire on the Gold Coast. Would have been nice for them.

    It fell to pieces when the government redirected the idea to a swamp outside of Adelaide. Huge books of glossy nonsense were written on the proposal before it was quietly shelved.

    Whether you agree with immigration or not it seems hard to argue that we should deliberately not have a policy.

    Can I ask you the question that no one will express an opinion on; there is no right answer its a policy question;

    Should immigration be sized to maximise the wealth of existing Australians or should we offer citizenship to as many people as possible to help their standard of living, consistent with some minimum standard for all Australians?

    Is migration for the good of existing Australians or for humanity as a whole? This is the nub of the question that pollies don't have the guts to answer.

    bacci
