Why?
Have you called your broker?
Do your trades take 5 days to settle? OR just 3?

For example, when CNN spun off their entitlement a couple months ago, those who sold on the ex-date actually relinquished their entitlement, and those who bought on that day actually acquired it!

But you and I may use different brokers hence my suggestion to check with your broker to be sure
