I remember commsec once shafted a few Players a couple of years ago with MEO. Entitlement to purchase shares at $1 and the sp at the time was in the $1.30s. A few bought a day before Ex but got screwed because commsec took 5 or so days to settle so they weren't on the register at the record date and weren't allocated the $1 shares. This led to pissed off commsec clients forming a consortium and suing commsec and closing their accounts (some of these guys had $5mil+ accounts at CBA). Not sure how it worked out but the moral of the story is clear.

Instead of just believing some bloke on HC, please do your own research and check with your broker.
