XOM and WDS (BHP) have both flagged selling Bass Strait Assets.
The obvious question, what is COE's intention.
Most likely several buyers (e.g., COE, BPT, Mitsui, etc) take a stake, possibly as one or more JVs.
Can COE process additional gas through their plant?
Can Longford easily accommodate more gas?
My guess, and it is only a guess/initial thought bubble, is a (bigger) stake in the Bass Strait fields would have played a large part in the thinking behind the gas plant acquisition and capital raise.
I am interested in the thoughts of others.
For example, Suitors, possible JV composition, need to raise more capital to fund acquisition of some WDS/XOM assets.
