Repairs to rail lines at Maitland NSW and environs (closed from Tuesday 5 July due to severe flooding) must have been completed as a few (largely empty) coal trains, including one from the Eraring power station back to NHC's Bengalla mine looks to have commenced running.
Supplying the coal fired power stations was apparently the priority as they may not typically have mammoth thermal coal stockpiles, so an 11 day plus interruption to the railway supply chain has been less than ideal.
One assumes more (including coal wagons destined for YAL/WHC/unlisted companies' mines, or loaded trains from these mines) will operate once rail line capacity is available, but there'll be other requirements such as signing on available locomotive crews. Stay tuned.
