sorry mate. I was (and generally am) a little tongue in cheek.
There is absolutely no reason why ESG cannot progress like Arrow has. Remember though, that Shell did buy in a lot later down the development track than what Santos have - so that is one key difference there. The "J/V" is therefore very different in nature.
Secondly, I dont know Jake. Why dont all business just come out and reveal their strategic direction. I mean the first time you should speak to a company about taking them over is be an ASX release right? Arrow did go to the market on NHCs stake for the record, and they did confirm there were no 3rd party talks about their stake at the time.
So anyway, the funny thing about your post was that you were trying to explain why a T#$%^&r is not the only path for ESG by using and example where it had been widely discussed in the media and brokerage reports that a T#$^&^$r was 'likely'.
