Don't misunderstand me, I too take quite a fairly cynical and critical perspective most times, but now need to consider the cards rhat have been dealt. Your criticism is probably as much about the legislation, which in hindsight clearly had loopholes. But at the time the government were clearly concerned all industries would close down completely without a helping hand.
Dabozza and Noddy have covered the point wrt the performance shares, and unfortunately the new cliche 'it is what it is' - if you actually do hold shares you can't change what those cards that have been dealt. Or you can move on if you believe it will be the ruination of the company forever. I am looking beyond that, and believe the skies are increasingly looking more blue for EGL.
