@grindstonecowboy; energy flows throughout the troposphere include bursts between the hemispheres while similar flows occur in our oceans - we're all part of one planet and the impact of global warming is not just increasing 'averages', it's exaggerating extreme events including heat waves.

Even in Australia temperatures in excess of 45'C are life threatening for our birds, animals, insects and fish. The 2019-20 bushfires demonstrated what extreme events can do and our problem is that we're still exacerbating the greenhouse effect, even of we stopped doing so tomorrow the 'lag' effect means it'll take another fifty years before trends reverse.
