There was a recent interview Mark held with Jane King about three weeks ago where she asked what the strategy of the company was. During his reply he stated that it was about advancing the antisense drugs through the pipeline and ultimately to commercialisation; the part I found interesting however was this comment: "we are contemplating doing that either ourselves or with larger pharmaceutical companies."
It goes to show that all options are still on the table. If we can go it alone that would be the better option IMO (2). I believe Mark in the past has said that Ionis has also incentivised going it alone with a single digit royalty should the programs reach commercialisation.
However it is good to know that they are still exploring all avenues. I agree with Mac9's sentiment that I trust that they will make a sound decision regarding the path forward.
