alright .. I being told that this “grace” period is at each company’s discretion but from a “best practices” standpoint a lot adopt the 10 working day rule as it takes away from looking like insider trading.. ie if a director buys a tonne of shares and then the company announces something the following day and the stock goes up 50% it’s likely to raise a few eyebrows.
