Actually asthma can be diagnosed in young children hence why my son was diagnosed at the age of three…and diagnosis is a multi faceted approach which involves multiple tests/examinations (i blood tests, physiological assessments lung function etc) to occur which is why there is no single way to diagnose asthma…and Spirometry is not the gold standard for diagnosing asthma as it is one tool used in the process. There is no gold standard.
