One thing I noticed about today's trading was that there was a significant number (at least in comparison with the overall small number of trades and volume) of instances where shares were sold into the bid with just enough to make sure the price was pushed a pip or two (or sometimes more) lower. This tends to make the price action look weaker than it otherwise would throughout the day (though the close was OK at least).
I'm not usually one for conspiracy theories, but if I was trying to maximise my return on the shares I'm selling, this technique probably wouldn't be high on my list.
