What I know:-
There is a UCG project in Scotland, and I read recently that a UCG license had been granted offshore in the North Sea.
Both of these projects are early stage and run by private companies, so there is not much info about.
There is a listed company that recently started to produce CBM (CSG) on a small scale. That company is Igas Energy, if you're interested to compare with the Australian situation.

As far as Cougar Energy (UK) is concerned, I have seen nothing at all about actual UK operations. The focus is on Pakistan and perhaps India. Not sure why except the stock market over here is very receptive to investments in those countries. Perhaps the plan is to IPO at some point in London?
