Kalenn suggested approx US$14,000/t as a 'sustainable' Ni price for Avebury. This is A$20,000/t at a 0.70 exchange rate.
The graph below is another way of looking at the Ni price. It's a plot, from Jan 2000 to Jul 2022, of the monthly average LME Ni price in Australian dollars adjusted for Australian CPI inflation. Yesterday's A$33,700/t Ni price is also shown. The y axis is logarithmic, not linear, showing % increase better. For instance the height between say 10,000 and 20,000 is the same as that between 20,000 and 40,000 or 40,000 and 80,000.
Interestingly, A$20,000/t on the graph corresponds to the inflation adjusted price in Dec 2008 when Oz Minerals took the decision to place Avebury in care and maintenance.
