I can't understand why the forecast today caused such a panic. When interest rates started going up it was obvious there would be an impact.. I did a back of the envelope calculation assuming nothing else changed and their effective interest rate doubled. This simple calculation made it clear a distribution drop down to around 14.2 cents was on the cards. Why has the figure of 14.1 cents come as such a shock?
The only thing I can think is that people have been too optimistic about the hedging?
