"Rudd's biggest chance to lose this election is to focus on his ETS."
In the election, whenever it comes, as it had mostly been in past elections, the issues and questions will be which party has the overall better policies for Australia.
Climate change and the parties' policies to deal with that will no doubt be an issue, but won't be the sole issue, occupying the minds of voters. The coalition can try to focus on it but, as it lacks credibility on this front, it will not swing large swags of votes towards their way.
Anyway, in the coming May federal budget the government will showcase its economic credential and I don't think the market will be disappointed with it. Just my thoughts.
