Beginning of 2017, I saw Telstra had been as high as $6 and was now into the low $5’s. Thought I’d keep watching.

A month later I bit the bullet and bought $137k worth of shares at $4.85. I’ve seen millions of times a share bounce around. I thought it’s come off so much already, chances are it will go up 1-2% from when I bought it (even if it hasn’t reached the bottom yet).

Boy oh boy was I wrong.

Not once have I been in profit over these last 5 years. It’s been good collecting the dividends but that’s very slow. I liked the quickness of trading.

Literally couldn’t have timed the investment worse.

Now we’re so close to breaking into the $4’s again, I’m really hoping we could see a climb back above not just mine, but so many people’s buy price.

Yeah I did exactly the same,

but did the sad gamblers trick of doubling down as it fell, repeatedly.

Bought and double 2-3 times then ended up well in front when it hit back to $4.

Gave up trading for about 18 months after that.

At its worst my losses were more than substantial and my resultant profit modest, but not worth the sleepless nights
