Home brew is great, you can get trashed and generally wake up the next morning and be able to function. I do find that you stack the weight on if you indulge excessively.
Losty worked in a brewery for ten years on the packaging floor, beer used to come over from the brewhouse ice cold, get put into cans/stubbies and then go through a pasteurising machine which basically heated the beer to around 66 degrees from memory, then cooled down again before the packaging process.
Thing is beer before it was pasteurised tasted like mothers milk no matter what type of beer it was, and six stubbies or cans of the stuff was like drinking 18 normal beers.
