Nice work @desertredlion. You put many of us to shame - just helpfully laying out an answer rather than being exasperated and incredulous about it.
We must remember there are many ex BHP shareholders on the register now - ‘accidental’ shareholders who aren’t all over the detail like many of us.
The BHP register above nearly any other I suspect has tens of thousands of very passive shareholders (shares inherited, bought on their behalf when they were a kid etc etc) so we shouldn’t be surprised some of them have barely caught up with the fact that they now hold WDS shares.
It would be good to hear more from you DRL. Your posts are always well considered and insightful.
