ww77, you ask, " how they going to accommodate all their employees eventually. are they build their own or rent."
Well, I would say that they have a number of options, some more complicated than others.
Mining villages, in this day and age are of a very high standard, a far cry from mining camps in the sixties.
This village will make Leigh Creek look like a shopping centre on the edge of town. Leigh Creek currently would have great difficulty in accommodating 2250+ workers. It will need medical services, policing, recreational facilities, messing facilities, to name just a few.
A typical Construction Accommodation Village of 2500 beds will include:
• the construction of accommodation units,
• kitchen and dining facilities
• laundries,
• taverns and beer gardens
• gymnasiums,
• a pool,
• recreation areas,
• a medical centre,
• operations office,
• BBQ shelters,
• washrooms,
• waste collection areas,
• waste and sewer treatment plant,
• maintenance facilities,
• sufficient power supply,
• communication head end infrastructure,
• supply of potable water"
And they would have to staff these extra services. All this by end 2022. It has to service a mega project.
Those of you who are familiar with construction camps will know this, but I urge others to consider the enormity of the village and its implementation.
Below is what one could expect Leigh Creek mining village to resemble. It gives a clear appreciation of a modern mining village. It concerns The Roy Hill Accommodation Village Project.
A couple of video clips showing some of Multiplex and Ausco involvements in the project. And also a young fellow's video of life in the camp.
Multiplex has completed The Roy Hill Accommodation Village Project | News | Multiplex
"Located approximately 270km south of Port Headland and 15km from the Roy Hill mine area, the newly completed master planned community features 400 rooms with a range of dwelling types to accommodate up to 2,000 permanent mine staff and construction workers. The variety in dwelling types will ensure accommodation can be adjusted to meet the changing requirements of the Roy Hill project over the coming years."

Note the speed at which it can be constructed once the site has been prepared and the equipment is on site. 145 Semi loads. A lot of preparation required. Not off-the-shelf Bunnings.

NRZ, will no doubt make construction workers and permanent staff very comfortable indeed.
And they will have to staff these extra services. All this by end 2022. It has to service a mega project.
ww77, I hope this helps. Perhaps you can overlay this type of accommodation on Leigh Creek and its surrounds.
