SouthernCross - I think you will also find in the accounts other short term financial assets (not classified as cash by accounting standards) that takes the balance up to $32m (from memory). I suspect these are money market instruments held by the company.
If you review the cash flow release earlier in the week, you will find a note at the bottom of the cash flow that explains this. So they probably have more cash than you think.
