QGC outlays $US3bn for LNG project in Queensland:
BG Group chief executive Frank Chapman spoke to analysts about the project in London on Friday night, after announcing the company's results.
"We all know that to make a successful LNG project you need reserves -- we got those," Mr Chapman said. "You need customers -- we have done a terrific job in pulling together that level of demand, up to 8.3 million tonnes in this environment . . . all the pieces are there -- this is going to happen."
QGC, formerly the Queensland Gas Company, was bought by the BG Group in 2008.
