This is at least a 17.74 per cent expected positive change to NPAT, so pleasing.
For me, it's too early to predict how the winter 2022 crops will go on the east coast of Australia but GNC is expert and would hopefully not exaggerate, so individuals like myself can be too pessimistic.
Portsmouth reminded us that the last time Austrralia's east coast enjoyed three consecutive good to excellent grain crops was 1998 to 2000, so it is rare.
The world more than ever needs the 'exportable surplus' from Australia given that there are question marks over the next crop in the Ukraine (see the 'GNC discussion' in another 'HC thread).
The NSW rail network is operating normally with the exception of the Moss Vale to Unanderra crosscountry rail line that's closed until about 25 September 2022 due to extensive landslips. It was to reopen this month but regrettably that's been delayed, as it's quicker to send NSW Riverina grain bound for Port Kembla via this line rather than having grain trains travelling through the Sydney suburbs, especially through Hurstville and Sutherland where there's no separate track for freight trains. A weekday peak period curfew applies banning freights between 0600-1000 and 1500-1900 hours so that's a major operating constraint.
