"That car would like be driving a coffin. Get hit by another and you'll be lucky to survive any car accident"
Yes you are right, just like any small car on our roads.

" I am more than happy to keep driving my petrol car probably for many years to come."
Me too, but i haven't driven a EV yet.

"They would have to get the price down of averaged sized cars for electric to $20K or less due to all the other fees you get whacked by with EV's."
Which fees do you get whacked with? sorry Google cant find them.
Just like any other Technology the prices will come down in the near future.

Very popular in Australia as an example only is:https://hotcopper.com.au/data/attachments/4585/4585557-5a927cc1e8295806a69b384fb7e8fc05.jpg
$44,900 starting price -(reasonable for a SUV)

"In WA they charge you extra per KM you drive an EV. That doesn't appeal to me at all. "
In WA and other states their intention was to introduce a road user charge on 1 July 2027.

"Rego costs are 5 times higher than a petrol car each year"
Really? 5 times higher, can you show me where you got that information from also?
Depending where you arer from Rego is free for the first two years, $0 or reduced stamp duty, $3000 rebates, and so on.....

"then you need to buy an EV car charger at home which is another $3K".

Car chargers start from $1000 to $3000.
There are free public charging stations.
For those with solar panels at home who are able to store their own electricity, the real cost of powering an EV can effectively come down to zero.
Agl even have Electricity plans just for your EV.
Did you know powering an EV is around 70 per cent cheapercompared to a car with an internal-combustion engine powered by petrol or diesel, saving EV drivers, on average, $1600 in fuel costs each year. I didn't.

"Happy to own lithium shares but would never buy an EV myself".
I'm not happy to own lithium shares, i'm ELECTRIFIED at this very green moment!
I'm happy with my car for now, who knows if that would change in the future.
