With the exception of AVZ which has not been sold down for obvious reasons it would seem that the other holdings in the Van Eck index have been reduced by around 3.7% This perhaps confirms a general sell down to fund withdrawals. Perhaps not a good time for investors to withdraw given the recent uptick in RE stocks. Certainly no different treatment for LTR compared to others.
There is a rebalance of the MVIS index coming up at the end of the month and if VE needs to remove some stocks from its ETF not sure how the short sellers who have stocks on loan from them reconcile their positions. Does VAn Eck squeeze the short sellers to purchase its holdings to cover their positions. If so VE will want to minimise its losses so perhaps for some being out of the index might be a blessing.
DYOR and hang on for the ride.
