when you trade internationally - I know commsec and NAB do it. So a local broker (wherever ISXFEU lists) is not needed.
everything is converted into AUD for you (as well as showing local price) so you don't have to crunch the exchange value. the purchase can be a little frustrating but once in (therefore a local might be better depending on your strategy/ portfolio) - dividends are converted into AUD, the share value is converted into AUD - you don't need to find an broker that is local to listing location.
so the fear you hold is not needed.
