"The US Democrat's inflation reduction act (plus energy security / CC investments) has some pretty interesting stipulations on it's $7,500 EV credit scheme. Starting in 2023 to get the full rebate:

• 40% of the battery's critical minerals need to have come from the US (or countries with a free trade agreement)

• 50% of battery components need to be manufactured in the US (or countries with a free trade agreement)

This ratchets up 10% every year until 2027 for critical minerals at 70% of total, and 100% for battery components in 2028."
