ballance's primary mission, being a co-op is to keep fert prices affordable for their members. if their management believe fert will undergo upward pressure through 2010 (and they do, its been reiterated in several of their media releases/reports etc) then what i am suggesting makes sense (well to me anyway!). it would certainly be on my agenda if i were in their shoes.

add in a bit of fear of missing out due india's interest, oh and the fact MAK's marketing manager cut his teeth in the NZ fert business... you get a compelling set of pieces falling into place which suggest what i am theorizing about may not be completely out of the question.
